THREE PROPOSED PROGRAMS TO CHOOSE FROM

2019 MTCU funded Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program approvals will be posted in the new year. Proposed programs include:

  • CNC Precision Metal Cutting (General Machinist, Tool & Die, Mould Maker)
  • Truck & Coach Technician (Agricultural Equipment Technician, Powered Lift Truck Technician, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician)
  • Brick & Stone Mason

These proposed full time Pre-Apprenticeship programs will start in April with 17 - 20 weeks of in-school training which includes the Basic Level 1 Apprenticeship Training standard (1st level of trade school in an expanded format), safety training & other pre-trades training. A 12 week (420 hour) industry work placement follows. The Ministry covers the cost of tuition, textbooks and safety equipment. Participants are responsible for their own cost of living expenses and transportation. Programs have a limited number of participant seats - the recruitment and selection process will start in January 2019.
